Food nutrition misunderstanding inventory

2019-08-21 10:47:46

Nutrition is the foundation of our health. It can prevent the occurrence of diseases through reasonable diet. The survey shows that nutrition can reduce the incidence of cancer by 30%-40%, but I found that people have common misunderstandings about nutrition.

Myth 1: The need for more nutrition is important

In terms of types, we need more than 40 kinds of nutrients, some of them are more, some are less, some are written in grams, and some are in micrograms. For example, protein, 60-90 grams for ordinary people, and hundreds of grams for heavy manual workers. Calcium needs 800-1000 micrograms and iron 15-20 milligrams. But it is not important that we need more quantity. If it is less, it is not important. Of course not, for example, protein needs tens of grams, it is an important component of our body, our immunity needs protein support; and 15 mg of iron deficiency, also form iron deficiency anemia, affecting the development of children.

Myth 2: Nutrition is not as good as possible

"Nutrition" can not be lacking, but by no means as much as possible. Taking protein as an example to illustrate the importance of the right amount of "nutrition". If children with growth and development have insufficient protein intake, they will affect the normal development of height, weight and intelligence. Therefore, in addition to protein intake, many people also eat a little protein powder.

But in fact, the protein is not as good as possible. Eating too much means waste, and excess protein is metabolized. Moreover, when too much protein is ingested, the decomposition of proteins in the body increases, and the nitrogen-containing substances excreted in the urine also increase, which increases the load on the kidneys, accelerates the loss of calcium in the bones, and increases the risk of osteoporosis.

Misunderstanding 3: Good and bad food

We often hear the opinions of some experts, dividing food into good and bad. Some foods are said to be junk food, while others are called universal food. This is a very incorrect view. In nutrition, we divide food into five categories, first, cereals and potatoes, the second is animal food, the third is cereals and nuts, and the fourth is vegetables and fruits, and the fifth category. It is pure energy food. Each of them provides the nutrients our body needs.

Myth 4: The more expensive the food, the better.

The food is not as expensive as possible. An egg provides more energy than an abalone, protein content is similar, fat, cholesterol content of eggs is higher than abalone, abalone's carbohydrate content is more than twice that of eggs, abalone's calcium, iron, selenium than The eggs are much better, but the vitamins A, B1 and B2 in the eggs are more than the abalone, the niacin content is almost the same, and the vitamin C is neither. From the data point of view, there is not much difference in the nutritional content of abalone and eggs, but the content of individual nutrients is different, but the price difference is large. An abalone can buy a few pounds of eggs, so the more expensive the food, the more nutrients it provides.

Misunderstanding 4: Four legs can't compare with no legs

There is a popular saying in the market: "The four legs are not comparable to the two legs. The two legs are not comparable to one leg, and the one leg is not comparable to the one without legs." Four legs refer to pigs, cattle, and sheep. The two legs mainly refer to chickens, ducks, etc., one leg refers to mushroom and other fungi foods, and there are no finger fish such as fish.

In fact, from a nutritional point of view, four legs, two legs and no legs are animal foods, the protein content is relatively high, the iron content is similar, and the pork has a high fat content, which may be less popular, but its Vitamin B1 is higher than other foods. Mushrooms have much lower fat and energy, but their protein, iron, selenium and vitamin A content are less than the other three foods.

Myth 5: Egg yolk is high in cholesterol

Many people care about the problem of cholesterol. I found that many people around me don't eat egg yolk when they eat eggs. They think it will increase cholesterol. In fact, all the organs in our body have cholesterol. Our internal cholesterol is 1000 mg, 500 mg from the outside, and one egg yolk contains only 50 mg of cholesterol. The internal organs of animals, such as the viscera in our stewed (Beijing snacks), contain much higher levels of cholesterol than egg yolk. Many people often do not eat egg yolk, but eat a bit of boiled food. Your cholesterol intake is easier. Excess.
